Welcome visitors to our small place on the world wide web. The site is (and will be) dedicated to our engagement and our wedding, and a few things in between. Chantal and Kirk will each have a blog, it may not be a daily ritual but it should be interesting to see how the plans work out for our Alternative wedding.
The History of Chantal and Kirk
In September 1996, Chantal was introduced to Brazil Coffee House. Later that fall, she met Kirk through a fellow card player. Nothing grew here, just occational run ins at Brazil until it's untimely end on March 24th, 1998.
It wasn't until a mutual friends' wedding that their paths crossed again.
On September 12th, 1998, at Kristina and Aaron's wedding, the two were re-introduced. Conversations, Dance, Drinks, and Drama were involved that night.
Sadly, Chantal was still mending a broken heart and ended their relationship within a week. A very friendly break, Kirk was an understanding man who told Chantal that she could call him whenever she was ready to date again.
Sometime in November, Chantal and Kirk's paths crossed at (another) mutual friends' place. Chantal realized she had missed and wanted to restart the relationship, thinking it was too late, she did not persue the opportunity.
Some time in February 1999, Chantal and Kirk's paths crossed AGAIN. Flirting over coffee at The Cave Coffee House.
On March 6th, Chantal and Kirk along with other friends hung out at The Cave until closing time where they moved down the street to Country Style (Coffee Shop). Chantal told her friends that she had to leave and Kirk being a gentlemen, offered to walk her home (also offering his place to stay for the night, but Chantal refused). They walked from downtown to the Mike's Mart on Cassell Street where Kirk called a cab due to the extreme cold weather. Upon arrival at Chantal's mothers' house, Kirk being a gentlemen (again), walked Chantal up the driveway. Chantal said Thanks for the ride home, and gave Kirk a kiss goodnight. Kirk stuned, got back in the cab and went home to his apartment.
Starting the following Monday, Chantal and Kirk spent every spare moment together. Chantal was working at Valin Partners on a six month placement and Kirk was in college. They would met for coffee, before work/school, downtown at the Walk-In Cafe, hang out in the afternoon at The Cave, spent evenings together.
Around the time of the end of her placement at Valin Partners, Chantal moved in with Kirk.
